What is Baptism?
Baptism is the door that gives us new life in Christ. Through it, we become adopted sons and daughters of God and is the first sacrament of Initiation into Christ’s Church.
Why is this important?
Baptism is necessary for salvation. We become marked by God as one of His own and gain access to heaven. Through the waters of baptism, we are washed of original sin, given new life through the Holy Spirit, and become sharers in Jesus’ mission to spread His Kingdom here on earth.

Infant baptism (children 0-6 years of age)
Parents of newborn children are encouraged to have their child baptized soon after birth.
Baptism Preparation Class - First time parents are required to attend a baptism class, held the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30-7:30pm.
Baptism Liturgy - Children are baptized during one of Baptism Liturgies, held the third Saturday of each month at 10am. All members of the church community are welcome to attend the Baptism Liturgy in welcoming our newest members to the faith!

Adult baptism (ages 7+)
For adults or parents of children above the age of reason (age 7) go through a process called OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults). See page “becoming Catholic” for more details.
